Training

The National Center for Urban Operations (NCUO) and the Asymmetric Warfare Group (AWG) continue to lead the US Army in preparing for conflict amongst subterranean environments. The purpose of this role is to develop doctrine, training, and facilities required to ensure the effectiveness of combined arms maneuver beneath the earth’s surface, both in austere and densely populated environs. NCUO leaders have instructed training for every one of the 28 Brigade Combat Teams in the US Army, the 75th Ranger Regiment, Joint Special Operations Command’s (JSOC) Special Mission Units, the New York City Fire Department, and Customs & Border Protection Tunnel Entry Team (CBP TET).
